Self-Adhesive Bitumen Waterproofing Membrane Equipment refers to the specialized machinery and systems used to manufacture self-adhesive bitumen membranes—materials widely used in construction for waterproofing applications, especially on roofs, basements, and foundations.
What is a Self-Adhesive Bitumen Membrane?
It is a flexible, rubberized asphalt sheet laminated with a protective film (often polyethylene or aluminum foil), and coated on one side with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer protected by a release film. It doesn’t require heating (torch-free), making installation safer and easier.
Bitumen Melting and Storage System
Melts and stores asphalt/bitumen at controlled temperatures.
Includes pumps, agitators, and heating controls.
Modifier Dosing and Mixing Unit
Adds SBS, APP, or other polymer modifiers to enhance elasticity, temperature resistance, and durability.
Ensures homogeneous mixing.
Coating and Laminating Line
Coats the reinforcement material (like fiberglass or polyester) with the bitumen mixture.
Laminates with surface materials like polyethylene film or aluminum foil.
Cooling and Calendering Section
Cools the coated sheet.
Controls thickness and smooths the surface via calender rollers.
Adhesive Application Section
Applies the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer to one side.
Can include silicon release liners to protect the adhesive.
Slitting and Rewinding Station
Cuts the finished membrane into rolls of desired width and length.
Rewinds the product for packaging.
Control System
Typically PLC-based for automated temperature control, speed regulation, and quality assurance.
Applications of the Membrane
Flat and pitched roofs
Foundations and basements
Bridges and tunnels
Wet areas (bathrooms, kitchens)
